Location tracking on animals I think is one of
the greatest ideas that they have come up with. Many animals are lost today and
flyers and ads really do not do much. The chip is an easy way to locate the
animal if they have run off. I for one have them in my dogs. Many rescue leagues now put them in all animals they get in or require you to sign a contract saying you will get one put in when adopting.
Putting it in a human is a completely different
story. Humans are very different from animals. Putting a tracking device in a
human will take more risks. Risks associated with this could be going under the
knife for the first time or to many times and having complications that result.
If you have previous existing health problems that can also be factored in to
the risks of implanting something new and foreign to your body. If the doctor
is new with the chips or places it incorrectly that could also cause long-term
effects. Humans can communicate unlike animals. I understand that kidnapping is
happening a lot these days but it is not common enough to have to implant a
chip. If an elderly person has severe Alzheimer’s where they will walk off then
they need to have a care taker at all times. People are looking for jobs these
days and that would be a well paying job that would not have life threatening
risks. The older you get the harder surgeries become. Implanting a chip into a
human for a tracking device is a horrible idea. We can attach it to clothing or
phones but not implanting
I agree with all of your points. I think that tracking devices should stay on animals and stay away from humans. I also agree that a person with Alzheimer's should always be with someone like a care taker. We should not implant anything in anyone but animals.
ReplyDeleteI also agree. My animals have all been microchipped and it gives me a sense of security. Although I do not agree with applying that technology to Alzheimers patients, it is not practical to expect anyone to be monitored 24 hours a day, unless they are a patient in a critical care unit, however, the gps shoes or perhaps a bracelet could be an alternative to assist in keepin this population safe.
ReplyDeleteI agree that no one should be implanted with a micro chip. i think it is a violation of privacy and there are better ways like you said to know where someone is and the best way to do it is have a caretaker with that person or child.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with your opinion. I think that the health risks associated with such a law would be astronomical. A chip would endanger the health of whoever it was implanted in, not to mention the risk of internal radiation.
ReplyDeleteI agree that there are some reasons or instances where the GPS chip would be problematic, but I disagree with the idea that the GPS chip would be difficult in terms of health. Today we have many foreign objects implanted and the process could be as simple as getting your ears pierced. For example, a form of birth contol called Implanon is inserted under the skin and is available to anyone with a health care provider.
