This news story I found particularly interesting. 'Hacker Scouts", the name of the extra curricular activity discussed in this video, is helping children and teenagers not only explore and create new technology but learn so much more then I would have ever though children could learn at ages as young as 8. These children are working together with a group of mentors to create technology based items. Children work on creating small computers that are used in various projects, or electrical based projects that involve an immense amount of science and art skills. The children are also building confidence in themselves, building friendships, and learning the behind the scenes of how technology is built and works. The reward for the children is to create their own badges on a laser printer. This is completely showing the good in technology. There is learning, self-confidence, and friendships being built through this program which are all things children need to build on growing up.

Many assume technology is bad for the brain because of many different aspects. This video cast is explaining how the screens of technology items such as computers, ipads, and televisions are causing more problems then in previous years to children growing up today. This is showing the bad side that technology is having on out world today. It is causing children to have to go to the doctors more for eye exams and routine check ups to make sure their vision and health is okay. This is all happening because of technology. In past years there were not as many vision problems and checks ups needed for children, now doctors are recommending more frequent visits because of the rise in technology.

Watching this video cast is sickening and extremely hard to watch. This shows the ugly side of the technological world and how social media is horrible, espeically for teens. These boys raped a girl and exploited videos of them joking, harassing, and thinking that the rape was funny all over social media sites. Although the boys were convicted for this, it does not change the fact that this girl was not only raped but the videos of it and post rape were platered all over the internet. This is showing how the internet can not only harm someone physically but also ruin social lives and cause jail time for many. Teens today, and many others older, think that everything should be posted on social media sites. We are shown by this video, that things posted online can cause horrible horrible harm to many people.
